A strong preschool foundation is one of the best presents you can give to your child.
The State of Mississippi licenses First Step Preschool. Our program serves children who are at least 1 year old. Our preschool provides a rich and loving environment for children.
Our Curriculum
First Steps Preschool provides a quality curriculum in our 3-year-old and 4-year-old classrooms. We utilize the Mississippi Beginnings Curriculum along with the Early Learning Guidelines. These curriculums implement letter recognition, letter sounds, colors, shapes, and more. Our goal with this program is to prepare children for kindergarten.
Our Curriculum
In First Steps Preschool 1-year-old and 2-year-old classrooms we use the Creative curriculum guidelines which focus on self-help, self-awareness and language skills.

Playground
Outdoor play is essential to the healthy development of children. First Steps Preschool has a playground, fenced for safety. Children will play outdoors daily, except under extreme weather conditions (Heat or Cold).
Please make sure your child is dressed seasonally appropriately, tennis shoes are preferred.
PLEASE NO FLIP FLOPS or CROCS.
After School Program:
Activities after school include homework time, indoor/outdoor playtime, STEM, and craft time. There are no TVs in the rooms but the center will have a TV for limited educational viewing during Pickup.
